This policy explains how refunds work for Abstraction’s services. Because our work is custom and built to order, it is treated differently from off-the-shelf products.
01Custom work
We deliver bespoke design, engineering, and AI work — time and expertise applied to your specific problem. Fees reflect work performed rather than a returnable product.
02Deposits
A deposit confirms your project and reserves time in our schedule. Deposits are non-refundable once we have begun work or held time for your project, unless your proposal says otherwise.
03Work already performed
Fees for milestones or hours already delivered are non-refundable, as they cover work completed. Any amount paid in advance for work not yet started may be refundable — see below.
04If you cancel
You may cancel an engagement at any time in writing. You remain responsible for work performed up to the cancellation date; any prepaid amount for work not yet started is returned to you.
05If we cancel
If we are unable to continue a project, we will let you know promptly and refund any amount you have paid for work we have not delivered.
06Fixed-price and subscription work
For fixed-price milestones, refunds follow the milestone structure in your proposal. For any recurring or retainer arrangement, you may cancel future periods; the current period is non-refundable once it has begun, unless stated otherwise.
07Let’s sort it out first
If something isn’t right, tell us before requesting a refund. Most issues are faster to fix directly, and we would rather make the work right than leave you unhappy.
